Park Avenue Numismatics highlights President Bob Green's recognition among the most influential figures in the numismatics industry.
Miami, Florida, United States, October 1, 2026 -- Park Avenue Numismatics, a firm specializing in physical precious metals and rare coins since 1988, has announced the continued recognition of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Bob Green, as one of the most influential figures in the numismatics industry. The acknowledgment reflects decades of work within a specialized field that serves collectors and investors seeking rare coins and precious metals. The company, headquartered in Miami, Florida, with a presence in additional key markets including New York, notes that this recognition underscores its standing within the broader hard asset community.

A Career Rooted in Numismatic Expertise
Numismatics refers to the study and collection of coins, paper currency, and related objects. Within this field, rare coins are valued not only for their metal content but also for their scarcity, historical significance, and condition. Bob Green entered this discipline in the mid-1980s, working alongside recognized figures such as Walter Breen and Stanley Apfelbaum at FirstCoinvestors Inc. During this period, he developed the knowledge base that would later inform the founding of his own enterprise.
In 1988, Green established Park Avenue Numismatics with a focus on high-grade numismatic coins and rare-date gold coins. High-grade coins are those that have been assessed to be in exceptional condition, while rare-date gold coins are pieces minted in limited quantities during specific years, making them sought after by both collectors and investors. Over the course of nearly four decades, the company has grown into an organization that has handled more than one billion dollars in transactions.
"Building a company in this industry requires trust above all else," said Bob Green, President and CEO of Park Avenue Numismatics. "I have always believed that our clients deserve honesty, discretion, and a genuine commitment to helping them reach their goals, whether they are just beginning a collection or managing a substantial portfolio."
Recognition Within the Industry
Green has been named multiple times among the most influential people in numismatics, a distinction that has been documented across several years spanning the modern history of the field. This recurring acknowledgment reflects his sustained contributions to how rare coins and precious metals are bought, sold, and understood by the collecting and investing public. He has also been featured in Coin World, a well-known publication covering the numismatic community, in a profile documented on the company website that can be viewed through the Coin World feature page.
The company attributes part of its influence to its willingness to adopt technology that improves access to the market. Park Avenue Numismatics has introduced an internet auction platform and a mobile application designed to enhance coin collecting and trading. These tools allow collectors and investors to participate in the market with greater convenience, expanding the traditional avenues through which rare coins have historically been traded.
The Case for Liquidity in Rare Coins
One characteristic that distinguishes rare United States coins from many other collectibles is liquidity. Liquidity refers to how easily an asset can be converted into cash without a significant loss in value. The company points to the development of independent coin grading services as a central factor in making rare coins among the most liquid collectibles available today.
Two organizations, the Professional Coin Grading Service, known as PCGS, and the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, known as NGC, provide independent assessments of a coin's condition and authenticity. Grading is the process of evaluating a coin according to a standardized scale, which allows buyers and sellers to transact with confidence even when they cannot physically inspect the coin. This practice is often described in the industry as trading sight-unseen, meaning a transaction can be completed based on the grade assigned rather than a personal inspection.
On a typical trading day, thousands of certified rare United States coins are bought and sold sight-unseen on an electronic numismatic exchange. At any given time, thousands of coin dealers nationwide can provide buy or sell quotes for virtually any rare United States coin. According to the company, this degree of liquidity is made possible by the standardized grading provided by NGC and PCGS, and no other collectible category offers a comparable level of market accessibility.
Beyond electronic exchanges, collectors and investors have additional options for liquidating their holdings. These include selling directly to a dealer or offering coins through public auctions. Park Avenue Numismatics states that it can facilitate any auction for rare coins at favorable rates, providing clients with multiple pathways to convert their assets when they choose to do so.
A Focus on Safety, Security, and Privacy
The company positions its account specialists as advisors who assist clients in constructing balanced and diversified hard asset portfolios. A hard asset is a tangible item of value, such as gold, silver, or a rare coin, as distinguished from paper-based financial instruments. The stated emphasis of these specialists is on safety, security, and privacy, considerations that the company identifies as particularly relevant to its clientele, many of whom are high net worth individuals and investors.
Diversification, the practice of spreading holdings across different types of assets to manage risk, is a central theme in the company's approach. For collectors, the same specialists can assist in building a collection based on interests, historical periods, or specific categories of coins. The company serves clients across a broad spectrum of experience, from those making their first acquisition to seasoned participants in the market. Additional information about the company's offerings is available through its bullion and rare coins resources.
Reputation and Standing
Park Avenue Numismatics reports an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, an organization that evaluates businesses based on customer interactions and operational practices. The company also maintains customer feedback records available through the MA-Shops feedback page, where past transactions and client responses can be reviewed. The firm shares updates and industry information through its social channels, including its Facebook page and its Instagram profile.
The recognition of Bob Green as an influential figure, combined with the company's long operating history, reflects an established presence in a field that requires specialized knowledge. As the market for rare coins and precious metals continues to evolve alongside new technology, the company indicates that it intends to maintain its focus on the principles that have guided it since its founding.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino is confident the country would surpass its target of four gold medals in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Tolentino said the country still has a strong chance in multiple disciplines, including jiu-jitsu and judo. “There are still three days until Sunday morning. Last 3 days, still hoping for more golds,” he said. His bold prediction, however, took a hit Thursday afternoon when top seed Alex Eala lost in women's tennis semifinals and settled for the bronze. At the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the Philippines finished with four gold medals from pole vaulter EJ Obiena, jiu-jitsu fighters Annie Ramirez and Meggie Ochoa, and the Gilas Pilipinas men’s basketball team. At press time, the Philippines has three gold medals, one from Obiena and two from Carlos Yulo. Tokyo Olympic silver medalist and pugilist Carlo Paalam and the jiu-jitsu fighters, including Ramirez and Kaila Napolis are still in the hunt for a gold medal. “God willing. Fellow Filipinos, let's pray for our athletes at Team Philippines. They’re still on the qualification stage. That’s why we can still surpass the four, hopefully,” Tolentino said. The POC chief earlier said that their target was to win four gold medals — later increased to eight — for this edition of the Asian Games. The closing ceremony is set to be held on Sunday with Japan handing over the Olympic Council of Asia flag to Doha, Qatar, which will host the quadrennial event for the second time in 2030.

Rookie Sizco Roquid contributed 16 points, 5 boards and a steal while Francis Rosales scored 13 points behind a 3-of-4 shooting from the 3-point area for the Joph Cleopas-coached team. Cleopas lauded his team for not wilting to pressure when the Greenies mounted a rally in the second quarter. In the second half, however, the Junior Altas regained their composure and led by as many as 25 points. Patrick Pasinos led the Greenies with 31 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks.

Ivan Lazarte chipped in 17 points while Lance Nitura added nine points for Mapua. Mapua outrebounded Arellano, 56-30, and shot 43.1 percent (28/65) from the field compared to Arellano’s 27.9 percent (19/68) shooting clip. Renzo Abiera and Yuan Camay led the Chiefs with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Mapua, which suffered three consecutive heartaches, scored a breakthrough win over San Beda University and kept its momentum against Arellano to tally a 2-3 win-loss card. Arellano dropped to 4-1.
Alex Eala still walked away from the Asian Games with a bronze medal for the Philippines, but the pain of coming so close to a place in the final was evident.

Taekwondo jin Jeus Gabriel Derick Yape secured the bronze medal in the men"s individual poomsae at the 2026 Asian Games on Thursday in Japan.
MANILA, Philippines — Favored to win the gold medal, Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala bowed to Xiyu Wang of China in a grueling three-set match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, in their women's tennis semifinal duel at the 20th Asian Games on a windy Thursday afternoon at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center. Eala, ranked 18th in the world and seeded No. 1 in the tournament, failed to sustain her rousing start and lost to world No. 85 Wang after a long three-hour battle. Eala fully took control of the match against Wang after a 5-0 start in the opening set, orchestrating razor-sharp swings. Wang did not back down from the fight and pulled three straight loves to challenge the No. 1-seeded netter of the tournament, 5-3. Eala had enough with the back-and-forth against Wang and loaded up her swings to take the first set, 6-3. In set three, Wang held a comfortable 5-2 lead, nearing to book her ticket in the finals. Wang finished the match with a loaded hammer, 6-2. Eala fell short in her bid to end the 64-year gold medal drought of the nation, as the last time the Philippines won a gold medal was at the 1962 Jakarta Games, when Johnny Jose defeated Michio Miyagi in the men’s singles final. Wang will next face compatriot Shuai Zhang, ranked World No. 54, making it an all-Chinese women's final.
