Adamson beats UE 71-64 after third-quarter slump

The Soaring Falcons improved to 3-2 in UAAP Season 89, while the Red Warriors suffered their 26th consecutive defeat.

Adamson University recovered from a three-point third quarter to defeat University of the East 71-64 in UAAP Season 89 men's basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 11, 2026.

The victory followed Adamson's loss to NU and took its record to 3-2. UE's losing streak reached 26 games, stretching back to Season 87 in 2024.

Adamson held a 22-point advantage at half-time, but UE outscored the Falcons 17-3 in the next period. Drew Jimenez and Toper Lagat drove the comeback before a DJ Robles floater brought UE within eight points at 57-49.

Manu Anabo and Precious Jonah scored successive baskets at the start of the fourth quarter. A corner three-pointer from Earl Medina helped Adamson pull ahead 66-53, and Ray Allen Torres later extended the lead to 69-57. Lagat answered with a three-pointer and two free throws, but UE could not complete the comeback.

Torres finished with 17 points, including three three-pointers, plus three rebounds and three assists. Jonah contributed 14 points and Matt Erolon added 12. Lagat led UE with 22 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Robles scored 12.
