Alex Eala reaches career-best No. 17 ahead of Hong Kong Open
The Filipina moved up two places after reaching the Pan Pacific Open quarterfinals and will face Alycia Parks in Hong Kong.

Philippine tennis player Alex Eala reached No. 17 in the WTA rankings on November 2, 2026, setting a career best ahead of her final WTA tournament of the year. The 21-year-old advanced from No. 19, moving beyond her previous peak of No. 18.
Eala is due to begin the WTA250 Hong Kong Open against American Alycia Parks in the opening round. Their head-to-head record stands level: Parks won their Australian Open encounter, while Eala took their Canadian Open meeting. The Hong Kong match offers Eala a chance to record her second win over Parks.
The ranking rise followed Eala's run to the quarterfinals at Japan's Pan Pacific Open. She beat Mika Stojsavljevic and Talia Gibson before losing to Diana Shnaider. That result came after earlier exits at the Singapore Open, Wuhan Open and Ningbo Open during the Asian swing.
Eala's singles season has included titles at the DC Open and Birmingham Open, alongside semifinal appearances at the Berlin Tennis Open and ASB Classic. She also reached Wimbledon's round of 16 and the quarterfinals at the Dubai Tennis Championships and Abu Dhabi Open.
