Alwi Farhan advanced to the Denmark Open 2026 quarter-finals with a 21-14, 21-9 victory over Jonatan Christie in Odense on 15 October, reversing the outcome of their two previous meetings.

Farhan had lost both earlier encounters despite taking the opening game each time. In comments carried by PBSI, he attributed his straight-games win to better control of his emotions and eagerness, saying that had helped him perform better.

He said Christie remained his idol and that he was happy and honoured to face him again, while acknowledging the difficulty of playing against him.

Farhan next meets Denmark's Anders Antonsen, the fifth seed. He said he would prepare mentally for the atmosphere and the home crowd, adding that he intended to enjoy the experience as part of the game.

Farhan is among three unseeded players in the last eight, alongside Japan's Yudai Okimoto and Denmark's Rasmus Gemke. The other quarter-finalists are seeded players: Victor Lai (8), Chou Tien Chen (3), Alex Lanier (7), Antonsen (5) and Christo Popov (2).
