Alwi Farhan reaches French Open quarter-finals after beating Angus Ng
The Indonesian will face China's Hu Zhe An, having won six of their seven previous meetings.

Indonesia's Alwi Farhan defeated Hong Kong's Angus Ng Ka Long 21-18, 21-17 on 22 October to advance to the quarter-finals of the French Open 2026. He is among eight Indonesian representatives due to contest quarter-final matches on 23 October.
The 21-year-old from Surakarta, ranked 10th in the world in men's singles, said handling pressure and carrying out his coach's instructions helped him overcome an experienced opponent.
Alwi said the match had been difficult, noting that Ng had beaten Anders Antonsen in the preceding round. He said he wanted to stay hungry for further progress and maintain his motivation.
His next opponent is China's Hu Zhe An. Alwi has won six of their seven encounters, including their meetings at the Thailand Masters and Swiss Open in 2026.
Alwi is aiming to improve on his quarter-final exit at the Denmark Open. He said he had not produced his full capabilities there and would try to give everything at the French Open.
