Amri and Nita rally to reach Hylo Open 2026 semi-finals
The Indonesian mixed doubles pair will face Denmark’s Jesper Toft and Amalie Cecilie Kudsk on 31 October.

Indonesia’s Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah recovered from an opening-game defeat to beat Spain’s Ruben Garcia and Lucia Rodriguez 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 in the Hylo Open 2026 quarter-finals in Saarbrucken, Germany, on 30 October.
A switch to shorter shots in the second game helped the Indonesians counter their opponents’ attacking play. They levelled the match before taking a close deciding game to secure their semi-final place.
In comments distributed by PBSI and reported by Antara, Amri said the Spanish pair had offered tougher resistance than in their previous meeting. He described Garcia’s play as fast and varied, while highlighting Rodriguez’s composure and willingness to attack.
Nita said they had struggled with the pace in the opening game. She also noted the Spaniards’ solid defence and Garcia’s role in directing play from the back of the court. Her priority before the next match was physical recovery and improving concentration.
Amri and Nita had also beaten Garcia and Rodriguez in the round of 16 at the Thailand Masters 2026. Their next opponents, Denmark’s Jesper Toft and Amalie Cecilie Kudsk, advanced by defeating Callum Hemming and Estelle van Leeuwen 14-21, 21-14, 21-7.
