An Se Young won the Denmark Open on 18 October 2026, taking her career tally to 47 titles and moving past Indonesian badminton legend Susy Susanti’s women’s singles record, CNN Indonesia reported.

Akane Yamaguchi took the opening game of the final, but An recovered to win 21-23, 21-14, 21-18. The deciding game saw An trailing 6-11 before she overturned the deficit to secure the championship.

At 24, An has surpassed a record that had stood for more than two decades, according to CNN Indonesia. The Denmark Open victory brought her title count for 2026 to nine, including the Asian Championships, World Championships and Asian Games.

An’s latest success follows an 11-title haul in 2025. She began dominating the world tour in 2023, CNN Indonesia reported, while also collecting titles at major competitions such as the Asian Games and World Championships. Those results preceded her move beyond Susy’s career mark at the Denmark Open.
