Badminton leads Indonesia’s medal haul at Asian Games 2026

Two badminton golds exceeded the team’s target of one, while Indonesia finished with five golds against an overall target of four.

Badminton contributed more medals than any other sport to Indonesia’s Asian Games 2026 campaign, delivering two golds, one silver and three bronzes, according to CNN Indonesia. The men’s team and the pairing of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Mitu provided the badminton golds.

Indonesia recorded five golds, 11 silvers and 23 bronzes across all sports, surpassing its target of four gold medals. The badminton squad also beat its own target, which had been set at one gold. Every member of the squad earned a medal, with the men’s team winning gold and the women’s team taking bronze.

Weightlifting ranked second among Indonesia’s medal contributors with one gold and one bronze. Rahmat Erwin Fitriansyah won the gold in the 75kg category. Climbing and archery each supplied one gold, won by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Nurisa Dian Ashrifah respectively.

Esports and rowing each added two silvers. Sepak takraw delivered one silver and three bronzes, while teqball, shooting and padel each contributed one silver and one bronze. Surfing and beach volleyball each brought in one silver, and wushu accounted for five bronzes.
