Benilde rallies past San Sebastian 73-66 for third straight win
Joshua Cajucom scored 20 points as the Blazers improved to 5-1 and held on to first place in NCAA Season 102 Group A.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde used a 14-3 finishing run to beat San Sebastian College-Recoletos 73-66 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre on October 5, 2026. The victory was Benilde’s third in succession, keeping the Blazers top of Group A in NCAA Season 102 with a 5-1 record.
Cajucom contributed 20 points, 11 of them after half-time. Jhomel Ancheta added 14 points and three assists, while Justine Sanchez recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds. Benilde remained without Allen Liwag, Matt Jucom and Arle Podador.
San Sebastian entered the contest at 0-5 but stayed ahead throughout the opening half, reaching the interval with a 38-29 advantage. The Stags were still in front at 54-52 after the third quarter. Christian Ricio’s free throw and layup helped them move 63-59 ahead in the fourth.
Benilde then scored 10 unanswered points, with Sanchez’s basket making it 69-63 with 1:32 remaining. Caesleyh Bacani’s three-point play cut the gap to three with 49.6 seconds left, but Ian Torres hit a three-pointer before Cajucom made one of his free throws to complete the scoring.
