Bertrand targets individual final after Malaysian Open synchro gold
Bertrand Rhodict Lises and Enrique Maccartney Harold scored 392.28 points to beat American world bronze medallists in the men's synchronised event.

Malaysia's Bertrand Rhodict Lises is aiming for the men's individual 10m platform final at the Malaysian Open Diving Championship after taking synchronised gold alongside Enrique Maccartney Harold. He said his ultimate target was another gold, but reaching the final would come first.
Competing at Bukit Jalil's National Aquatic Centre, the Malaysians finished with 392.28 points. Americans Joshua Hedberg and Carson Tyler, bronze medallists at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, placed second on 368.43. Brazil's Caio Dalmaso and Miguel Cardoso earned bronze with 333.45.
Bertrand said illness after the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games had prevented training, while an injury to Elvis led to his pairing with Enrique. The two had trained and competed together since the age of 14. Bertrand credited Enrique's increased degree of difficulty for helping them win.
In men's synchronised 3m springboard, Malaysia's Yong Rui Jie and Nurqayyum Nazmi finished outside the medals with 349.20 points, improving on their Asian Games bronze-winning 345.81. Americans Quentin Henninger and John Ryan won with 383.49, ahead of Russia's Aleksandr Cherepakhin and Aleksandr Kalashnikov on 365.19. Japan's Rikuto Tamai and Senri Ikuma were third with 362.55.
Japan's Sayaka Mikami took the women's 3m springboard title with 300.40 points. Americans Sophie Verzyl and Kristen Hayden followed on 295.70 and 286.70 respectively. Malaysia's Lee Yiat Qing was 11th with 229.30, while Teng Hui Xue finished 12th on 203.05.
