Three second-half goals kept the Samarinda club top of Group D with six points in the AFC Challenge League.

Borneo FC Samarinda recovered from a half-time deficit to defeat Taiwan Steel 3-1 at Segiri Stadium in Samarinda on 21 October in Group D of the 2026/2027 AFC Challenge League.

Borneo had attacked from the outset, with N'Goma and Villa troubling the visiting defence. But Kim Sangjun put the visitors in front in the 11th minute with a shot from a tight angle. Hugo Samir and Moussa Diarra subsequently had chances as Borneo sought an equaliser, but the hosts went into the interval trailing 1-0.
