Philippine gymnast Carlos Yulo finished eighth among eight finalists in the men’s floor exercise at the 54th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on October 24. The result ended his attempt to regain the title he won in 2019.

His total of 13.233 points included an execution score of 7.633 and a difficulty score of 5.800. He received a 0.10 stick bonus but was also handed a 0.30 penalty.

Fred Richard won gold with 14.633 points, becoming the first American floor exercise world champion in 23 years. Britain’s Jake Jarman earned silver on 14.600, ahead of Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat, who took bronze with 14.466. Japan’s Ryosuke Doi placed fourth on 14.366.

Yulo’s first world floor title came in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2019. He later won two gold medals at the Paris Olympics and took both floor exercise and vault gold at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, where he also placed fourth on parallel bars.

He remains in contention for a world title in Rotterdam, with an appearance in the vault final scheduled for October 25.
