Carlos Yulo places seventh as world vault title goes to Artur Davtyan
The Filipino gymnast ended his world championships campaign without a medal after also placing eighth in the floor exercise final.

Philippine gymnast Carlos Yulo was unable to retain his vault title at the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, finishing seventh in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on October 25. Armenia’s Artur Davtyan won the final with 14.850 points.
Yulo received 13.833 points. His execution mark was 8.033 and his difficulty score was 5.600, while he also incurred a 0.30 penalty. He had previously won the world vault title in 2021 and 2025.
Silver went to Great Britain’s Jake Jarman on 14.650 points, with Norway’s Sebastian Sponevik taking bronze on 14.366. Eight gymnasts competed in the vault final.
The vault result followed Yulo’s eighth-place finish in the floor exercise on October 24. He scored 13.233 points in that final, with marks of 7.633 for execution and 5.800 for difficulty, a 0.10 stick bonus and a 0.30 penalty.
Yulo arrived at the world championships after winning both floor exercise and vault gold at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. He also won Olympic gold in those two disciplines at Paris 2024, but finished without a medal in Rotterdam.
