Emilio Aguinaldo College booked its place in the NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball quarterfinals with a 78-71 victory over Colegio de San Juan de Letran at San Juan’s Filoil Centre on November 5.

The result brought EAC’s record to 6-6, level with Arellano University for second place in Group B. Letran slipped to 8-4, although it had already clinched the group’s top position for the quarterfinals.

The Generals were ahead 21-17 after the opening quarter, but the Knights moved in front 23-21 during the second. EAC subsequently regained control and stretched its advantage to 68-51 with 8:18 left in the final period.

Letran narrowed the gap to 76-67 with 44 seconds remaining. Jacob Shanoda then converted free throws to secure EAC’s win despite further baskets from the Knights.
