Alexandra “Alex” Eala will face France’s Diane Parry in the Ningbo Open’s Round of 32 as she seeks a better result following early exits in Wuhan and Singapore.

The tournament’s main draw in China is expected to start on Monday. No official schedule has yet been announced for Eala’s opening match.

Parry, 24, is ranked No. 32 in the world and holds one WTA singles title. She won that title in August at the WTA 500 Monterrey Open in Mexico.

The French player exited both the China Open and Wuhan Open in the Round of 64. Her Grand Slam results this year include a last-16 appearance at the French Open and Round of 64 finishes at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Eala lost to Han Shi in Wuhan’s Round of 64 and to Tatiana Prozorova in Singapore’s Round of 16. Whoever wins the Eala-Parry match will next meet Diana Shnaider or a qualifier.
