The Philippines’ Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set to play doubles alongside American Desirae Krawczyk at the Pan Pacific Open. Their opening opponents will be Hao-Ching Chan, representing Chinese Taipei, and Japanese player Miyu Kato.

The Round of 16 match will bring Eala together with a partner who has won 13 doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Krawczyk, 32, has Filipino ancestry through her mother.

Krawczyk holds the No. 32 spot in the world doubles rankings. Her best ranking was No. 7, which she reached in August 2024. Her latest doubles title came in April 2026 alongside fellow American Caty McNally, after they defeated Anna Bondar and Magdalena Frech in a WTA500 final.

Krawczyk’s record also includes four mixed doubles Grand Slam titles: one at the French Open, one at the US Open and two at Wimbledon, won in 2021 and 2022.
