FEU takes solo UAAP lead with 93-70 win over Ateneo
The Tamaraws improved their record to 4-1 with a fourth successive victory, while Ateneo fell to 3-3.

A 93-70 victory against Ateneo gave Far Eastern University sole possession of first place in the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball tournament on October 10, 2026. The teams met at Smart Araneta Coliseum, where the Tamaraws extended their winning streak to four games and handed the Blue Eagles a second successive defeat.
Mo Konateh finished with 29 points for FEU, adding 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals. Kirby Mongcopa supplied 19 points alongside six rebounds, two steals and seven assists. Another 14 points came from Jorick Bautista.
Ateneo cut a seven-point half-time deficit to 43-46 early in the third quarter. FEU then put together a 15-2 run, with Mongcopa’s jumper taking the score to 61-45 at the 4:53 mark. The Tamaraws stayed in control into the final quarter, when Luke Felipe’s free throw made it 86-60 with 4:45 remaining, a 26-point advantage.
Jared Bahay’s 17 points led Ateneo; he also registered two steals, seven assists and two rebounds. Kieffer Alas scored 16 points and recorded three assists, five rebounds and four steals. Substitute Shawn Tuano provided 13 points.
