Ginebra sinks 16 triples in 126-99 quarterfinal win over San Miguel
Jordan Murphy contributed 33 points as Barangay Ginebra moved within one victory of a PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal berth.

Barangay Ginebra’s outside shooting helped deliver a 126-99 victory against San Miguel in their PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinal Game 2 on October 30, 2026. The result at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila left Ginebra needing one more win to reach the semifinals.
Ginebra landed 16 three-pointers, while San Miguel’s combined tally of successful three- and four-point attempts was eight. Jordan Murphy topped Ginebra’s scoring with 33 points, alongside 10 rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
RJ Abarrientos contributed 22 points, adding six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Five of Stephen Holt’s baskets came from three-point range as he finished on 19 points. For San Miguel, CJ Perez scored 18 points, Jerrick Ahanmisi had 17 and June Mar Fajardo supplied 16.
The opening period ended 34-24 in Ginebra’s favour, but San Miguel reduced the gap before the teams reached halftime at 69-62. A 33-20 third quarter put Ginebra ahead 102-82, and it remained in front throughout the final period.
Ginebra head coach Tim Cone warned against complacency, saying opponents could mount comebacks and gain momentum. He wanted his team to sustain its intensity rather than relax.
Only Ginebra’s 115-85 win against Blackwater on July 24 produced a larger winning margin for the team this season. The 27-point gap also matched its widest playoff margin since a 126-99 defeat of NorthPort in Game 5 of the previous season’s Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
