Haugesund secure promotion with Indonesian winger Lassana Doucoure in squad
The Norwegian club will play in the 2027 Eliteserien, but the second-tier title remains undecided ahead of the final round.

FK Haugesund, whose squad includes Indonesian winger Lassana Doucoure, have secured promotion to Norway’s top division after beating Asane Fotball 3-1 on 1 November. The result took them to 65 points from 29 matches, guaranteeing a place in the 2027 Eliteserien.
Haugesund lead the 2026 Norwegian First Division with one round remaining. They host Odd Bk on 8 November, when a victory would also secure the second-tier championship.
Second-placed Stromsgodset have 63 points and remain in contention for the title. A Stromsgodset win combined with a Haugesund defeat would give the challengers the championship. If the clubs finish level on points, goal difference will decide the winner.
Stromsgodset currently hold the advantage on that measure, with a goal difference of +45 compared with Haugesund’s +36. Haugesund therefore need a final-day win to be certain of taking the title.
Doucoure has yet to make an appearance for Haugesund. The former Barito Putera winger signed midway through the year but was unable to play after joining because he only received his Norwegian work permit in late October 2026.
