Indonesia is seeking a friendly against Hong Kong after Jordan cancelled their planned November meeting amid continuing tensions in the Middle East. Sumardji, head of PSSI's National Team Agency, said Hong Kong had yet to formally respond to the approach.

The Indonesian team had been due to play away against Jordan at Amman International Stadium on 13 November. Jordan announced the cancellation on 5 November.

Speaking to Antara, Sumardji said officials had contacted Hong Kong again but were still waiting for a definite answer with little time remaining. The November FIFA international window runs from 9 to 17 November, with each federation or national side able to arrange two matches.

Sumardji also rejected suggestions that Turkey was being considered as an alternative opponent. He said Turkey had instead been discussed as a possible venue for the Jordan fixture in search of safer conditions. After weighing various considerations, he said, officials decided not to proceed with a match in the Middle East.
