Indonesia beat Saudi Arabia 3-1 to lead Women’s U-17 Asian Cup qualifying group

Nafeeza Ayasha Nori scored twice as Indonesia secured a second win, with hosts Singapore next in the match that will decide qualification.

Indonesia moved into first place in Group B of qualifying for the 2027 Women’s U-17 Asian Cup with a 3-1 victory over Saudi Arabia at Bishan Stadium in Singapore on October 8. Nafeeza Ayasha Nori contributed two goals, while Fadilla also scored for Indonesia. Elshadanny provided Saudi Arabia’s reply.

The result followed Indonesia’s 2-0 win against Bahrain in their opening fixture on October 5. Indonesia will face hosts Singapore on October 11 in their final group match, which will determine qualification for the finals in China. That tournament is scheduled to begin on March 31, 2027.

Indonesia player Anya Gabriella said the team welcomed another victory but still had an important match ahead, according to PSSI’s media team. She said the players would review shortcomings from the Saudi Arabia game and maintain their focus for the Singapore encounter.

Women’s Football Committee chair Vivien Cahyadi praised the players and coaching staff for maintaining consistent performances across both matches. She stressed that the campaign was not over and that the decisive meeting with Singapore required continued focus.
