Indonesia drawn with Portugal and Wales for inaugural U-15 World Cup
The tournament and FIFA festival will take place in Azerbaijan from 24-30 October 2026, with no qualifying competition.

Indonesia’s boys’ under-15 national team will compete in the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan from 24-30 October 2026, PSSI chairman Erick Thohir has confirmed.
FIFA’s group allocation places Indonesia in Group G alongside Bangladesh, Burundi, Fiji, Portugal and Wales. Teams’ positions in the group standings will determine their subsequent tier placement, with group winners advancing to Tier A.
In an Instagram post on 12 October, Erick said the event would bring together 190 countries across 32 groups, involving more than 3,000 players, coaches and officials. There is no qualification stage, and participation is open to all FIFA members.
The competition is intended to support the development of young players. Erick said it would give Indonesia’s youngsters international competitive experience, opportunities to improve their skills and exposure to different football cultures. He also described the event as part of FIFA’s effort to encourage children’s interest in football and develop talent from an early age.
