Five golds helped Indonesia reach 39 medals and 16th place at Japan's Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, according to ANTARA. The team exceeded its target of four golds, while also collecting 11 silvers and 23 bronzes.

Two of the golds were badminton titles. A 3-2 victory against China in the men's team competition delivered Indonesia's opening gold. Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin then defeated a Chinese pair to become men's doubles champions.

In weightlifting, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah topped the men's 75-kg category with 366 kg overall. His snatch reached 160 kg and his clean-and-jerk lift was 206 kg, with both breaking world records. Speed climber Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi took the women's gold after recording 6.062 seconds, ahead of China's Li Juan Deng on 6.064 seconds.

The fifth gold went to Nurisa Dian Ashrifah, who overcame Philippine archer Amaya Amparo Cojuangco 139-137 in the women's individual compound final. Her win marked Indonesia's first archery gold at an Asian Games.

Indonesia's silver medals covered nine sports, among them rowing, beach volleyball and esports. Wushu accounted for five bronzes, while badminton and sepak takraw contributed three apiece. Mountain biking and karate each delivered two bronzes.
