Indonesia has formally approved and sent off 12 athletes to compete in nine sports at the 2026 Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) said. The Games are scheduled for 31 October to 13 November.

The delegation will be led by Chef de Mission Ita Yuliati, whose team is tasked with ensuring the athletes’ needs are met throughout the competition.

Speaking in Jakarta on 23 October, KOI chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari said he had heard a briefing on the athletes’ preparations from the Chef de Mission. He also said the athletes had delivered their pledge.

Oktohari said he was awaiting good news from the squad and hoped to hear Indonesia Raya played and see the Indonesian flag raised in Dakar.

He urged the athletes to look after their health and fitness, saying the trip to the Senegalese capital would take at least 30 hours. Dakar will host the fourth edition of the Youth Olympics, which began in 2010.
