Indonesia is seeking its first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Para Games on October 19, with athletes competing in medal-event programmes a day after the opening ceremony, according to the National Paralympic Committee of Indonesia (NPCI).

NPCI identified para shooting, taekwondo, judo, cycling, powerlifting, athletics and swimming as the sports offering gold-medal opportunities. Para archery, badminton, boccia, table tennis and fencing are still holding qualifying or knockout rounds.

In taekwondo, Antara reported that Ria Yulianto will face Mongolia's Surenjav Ulambayar in the women's K44 -52kg event. Victory would put Ria into the semi-finals, where a place in the final would be at stake.

Four Indonesian powerlifters are due to compete in finals: Abdul Hadi in the men's 49kg category, Hilman in the men's 54kg and Mabruf Arib Dzaki in the men's 59kg. Ni Nengah Widiasih will contest the women's 41kg category.

The athletics finals include Rizal Bagus Saktyono in the men's F46 javelin and Karisma Evi Tiarani in the women's T42/T44/T61/T63/T64 long jump. Swimming also has finals on the programme.
