Indonesia to face Brazil after hosts beat Cape Verde 4-2
Brazil coach Marquinhos Xavier identified defensive problems before the Indonesia match, with semi-final places at stake in Group A.

Indonesia will take on hosts Brazil at the Copa Das Nacoes De Futsal 2026 after the Brazilian side opened with a 4-2 victory over Cape Verde at Max Ronsenmann Arena in Sao Jose dos Pinhais.
The Indonesia–Brazil fixture is scheduled for Thursday, 15 October, in Brazil, or Friday, 16 October, at 05.00 WIB. A win would give Indonesia an opportunity to progress from Group A, which also includes Cape Verde.
Brazil coach Marquinhos Xavier welcomed the opening victory but said his team had shortcomings to address before facing Indonesia. In comments carried on CBF Futsal’s Instagram account, he said Brazil had lacked balance in the first half and conceded two quick, easy goals after taking the lead.
Xavier said slow reactions in reading the game had hurt his side and that the players needed to learn from their mistakes. He also viewed positive results as important for sustaining the hosts’ motivation.
The top two teams in each group qualify for the semi-finals. Japan, Afghanistan and Peru make up Group B.
