Indonesia wins two boccia golds at Asian Para Games
Gischa Zayana and Handayani won their individual finals, taking Indonesia's gold medal tally to seven and putting the team ninth overall.

Gischa Zayana and Handayani claimed gold medals in quick succession for Indonesia in women's individual boccia at the 2026 Asian Para Games on 21 October.
Gischa secured the first of the two titles by defeating Hong Kong's Hiu Lam Yeung 6-5 in the BC2 final. Handayani followed with a 5-4 victory over Malaysia's Angeline Melissa in the BC1 final.
The victories brought Indonesia's gold haul for the day to three, after Karisma Evi Tiarani's success in para athletics. Indonesia stood ninth in the medal standings with seven golds, six silvers and 19 bronzes.
Another Indonesian boccia player, Muhammad Syafa, missed out on a medal after losing 5-6 in the men's BC1 bronze-medal match. Felix Ardhi Yudha remained a contender for another gold in the men's BC2 individual event.
Boccia is a precision ball sport designed for athletes with severe physical disabilities, wheelchair users or athletes with cerebral palsy. BC1 competitors are entitled to assistance, while BC2 athletes have better hand function and seated balance than those in BC1.
