Indonesian MotoGP weekend opens with practice at Mandalika
Jorge Martin enters the round on 333 points, two ahead of Marc Marquez, with the main race scheduled for October 11.

The 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix weekend began on October 9 as teams prepared for opening practice across Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. The venue is in Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara.
Aprilia Racing’s Jorge Martin heads the championship standings with 333 points, while Ducati Lenovo Team’s Marc Marquez has 331. Indonesian competitors Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Pratama are racing at home in Moto2 and Moto3, respectively.
The MotoGP website listed the following first free practice sessions, all in Central Indonesia Time (WITA):
- Moto3: 9 a.m.–9:35 a.m.
- Moto2: 9:50 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
- MotoGP: 10:45 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Further practice was scheduled for the afternoon, starting with Moto3 at 1:15 p.m., then Moto2 at 2:05 p.m. and MotoGP at 3 p.m. These sessions precede qualifying, the Saturday MotoGP sprint and the main race on October 11.
The circuit received Grade A homologation from the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) on October 8 for the 2026 season, satisfying the requirements for hosting the FIM Grand Prix World Championship.
FIM checks covered safety areas and barriers, track markings, pit lane and grid facilities, marshal posts, lighting and LED panels, drainage, maintenance and long-lap penalty zones. The federation also stipulated event preparations involving safety and backup equipment, alongside teams able to respond to damaged racing equipment.
