Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, is in Indonesia to attend the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 final between the hosts and Thailand. The match at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is set for 5 October 2026 at 20.00 WIB, and his schedule includes the tournament’s closing programme.

The two finalists won their respective groups: Indonesia collected seven points in Group A, while Thailand took six points in Group B. Indonesia’s final group fixture ended in a 9-2 win against Bangladesh, helping it reach the final and finish as the group stage’s top-scoring side.

Infantino joined PSSI chairman Erick Thohir for an inspection of the venue before the game. They reviewed the spectator seating, stadium lights and playing surface.

Writing on his personal Instagram account, Infantino expressed enthusiasm about being in Indonesia and meeting Thohir again. He said he looked forward to observing football development efforts, discussing the sport’s future and experiencing supporters’ enthusiasm at the inaugural final.

The match will determine the competition’s first champion. SCTV and Indosiar will carry live coverage.
