Infantino inspects GBK ahead of Indonesia–Thailand ASEAN Cup final
Tickets have sold out for the final at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, which has a maximum capacity of 78,000.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino visited Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium with Indonesia’s Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir ahead of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 final. Indonesia will face Thailand there on 5 October at 20.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
An Instagram post showed Infantino, wearing batik, inspecting the spectator stands, stadium lighting and pitch alongside Erick. He also met volunteers who will help run the final.
Infantino expressed his appreciation on Instagram for the volunteers and staff, crediting their work with helping make the tournament in Indonesia a success.
Ahead of the match, Infantino and Erick announced that all tickets had been sold. The stadium can accommodate a maximum of 78,000 people.
Indonesia reached the final after finishing first in Group A with seven points, while Thailand led Group B with six points. FIFA described the tournament’s inaugural final as a meeting between two Southeast Asian football powers.
