Janice Tjen reaches Wuhan Open last 16 with win over Daria Snigur
The Indonesian could face top seed Aryna Sabalenka next after beating Snigur 7-5, 6-3.

Indonesia’s Janice Tjen advanced to the last 16 of the Wuhan Open 2026 by defeating Ukraine’s Daria Snigur 7-5, 6-3 on 14 October. The second-round match took place at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center in Wuhan.
Tjen, ranked 47th in the world, had beaten Aoi Ito in the opening round of the WTA 1000 tournament. Against the 42nd-ranked Snigur, she won the first two games before falling behind 2-3.
The opening set swung back towards Tjen as she moved 4-3 ahead, but Snigur levelled and broke her serve to lead 5-4. Tjen responded with a break of her own and, at 5-5, took the next two games to secure the set.
Tjen again opened up a 2-0 lead in the second set, then moved to 4-1 after Snigur took the third game. She closed out the set 6-3 and will next play either Aryna Sabalenka or Ann Li. Sabalenka is the world number two and the tournament’s top seed.
