Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) suffered their first loss in this AFC Champions League Elite campaign as Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors scored twice before the interval to win 2-0 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

JDT coach Xisco Munoz said his players had fallen short of their usual standards, making defensive mistakes and failing to threaten enough in attack. He called for a more mature response in their next match and a better understanding of the opposition.

Bruno Mota put Jeonbuk ahead after 22 minutes, meeting a cross from Kim Jin Gyu with a header into the bottom-left corner. Italo da Rosa then scored a penalty in the third minute of first-half added time after JDT goalkeeper Ahmad Syihan Hazmi Mohamed fouled Lee Dong Jun.

Before the defeat, JDT had earned seven points across three games. A 1-1 draw against Buriram United was followed by victories over Pohang Steelers, 2-0, and Port FC, 3-0.

Mota, named Player of the Match, rated Jeonbuk's performance as nearly perfect and credited the defenders and goalkeeper Song Bum Keun for helping secure the club's second win of the campaign.

Jeonbuk coach Chung Jung Yong also commended his defensive players and goalkeeper, but said he would have liked his forwards to add more goals.
