Indonesia's Jonatan Christie beat Taiwan's Lin Chun Yi 21-13, 21-14 at Fyn Arena in Odense on 14 October to progress from the opening round of the Denmark Open 2026. The 29-year-old is defending the men's singles title.

An early 0-3 deficit did not hold Christie back: he took six consecutive points and reached the first-game interval 11-4 ahead. Lin responded with four successive points after the break, but Christie pulled away again, building leads of 14-8 and 17-10 before taking the game.

From 1-1 in the second game, Christie moved ahead 6-2 and held an 11-6 advantage at the interval. The world No. 4 was briefly unable to move beyond 14 points before establishing a 15-10 lead over his 12th-ranked opponent. He then extended that margin to 18-12 before completing the win.

Christie's next opponent, Alwi Farhan, defeated Ayush Shetty 21-11, 13-21, 21-10. Another Indonesian men's singles representative, Moh Zaki Ubaidillah, was eliminated on 13 October.
