Karisma Evi Tiarani wins Indonesia’s fifth gold at Asian Para Games
The Indonesian sprinter clocked 14.59 seconds in the women’s T63 100 metres and also set a T42 classification record.

Indonesia claimed its fifth gold medal at the 2026 Asian Para Games when Karisma Evi Tiarani won the women’s T63 100 metres on 21 October. She finished in 14.59 seconds at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium.
Japanese competitors Tomomi Tozawa and Kaede Maegawa both recorded times of around 16 seconds. CNN Indonesia reported that Karisma’s winning performance also established a record for the women’s T42 100 metres.
The T42 and T63 classifications are often combined in competition. T63 is for athletes with a single above-knee amputation who use a prosthetic leg, while T42 includes athletes with impaired muscle function or an above-knee amputation who can compete without a prosthetic leg.
Karisma had already earned bronze on 19 October in the women’s long jump, contested across the T42/T44/T61/T62/T63/T64 classifications. Her sprint victory gave Indonesia its second para athletics gold, following I Kadek Dwi Purwana Yasa’s win in the men’s F57 discus.
Indonesia’s other gold medals came from para swimming, with two, and para cycling, with one. As of 09.19 WIB on 21 October, the contingent’s medal tally stood at five golds, five silvers and 18 bronzes.
