Khai Xing–Hong Quan beaten in Malaysia Super 100 semi-finals
The result ends Malaysia’s title hopes, leaving the tournament without a Malaysian winner for the first time since its 2023 launch.

Kang Khai Xing–Lok Hong Quan were eliminated from the Malaysia Super 100 after South Korea’s Jin Yong–Jo Song Hyun won their men’s doubles semi-final 21–15, 21–10. The fifth-seeded Koreans overcame the Malaysian sixth seeds in 30 minutes in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
The defeat at the Indoor Arena, EduCity Sports Complex, removed Malaysia’s last remaining contenders. No previous edition of the tournament, which started in 2023, had ended without a Malaysian title winner.
It was Khai Xing–Hong Quan’s first tournament as partners. Malaysia’s other remaining pairs had fallen a round earlier: Liew Xun–Nicole Tan in mixed doubles and Dania Sofea Zaidi–Tan Zhing Hui in women’s doubles.
Khai Xing had taken the men’s doubles crown last year with Aaron Tai, overcoming fellow Malaysians Chia Wei Jie–Lwi Sheng Hao in the final.
Malaysian players collected two titles in both 2023 and 2024. Leong Jun Hao won men’s singles and Chan Peng Soon–Cheah Yee See took mixed doubles in 2023. The 2024 titles went to Low Hang Yee–Ng Eng Cheong in men’s doubles and Go Pei Kee–Teoh Mei Xing in women’s doubles.
