Selangor coach Kim Pan Gon has urged his side to make better use of scoring chances before facing Kuching City in their FA Cup semi-final return leg, after a 1-0 Super League victory over Star City FC.

Hugo Boumous scored in the 16th minute at MBPJ Stadium to give Selangor their sixth consecutive league win and the maximum 18 points. Star City finished with 10 players after referee Faizal Talib dismissed Chigor Moraes in the 83rd minute following a VAR review.

Kim said missed opportunities to extend the lead had made the contest harder than necessary. He described the problem as a recurring one and said better finishing was needed for Selangor to become more competitive.

The coach nevertheless commended his players' performance and effort. With Selangor holding a 2-1 advantage from the home leg against Kuching, he called for collective work on their weaknesses rather than dependence on individuals, while stressing their desire to reach the final.
