Safawi Rasid scored twice as Kuching City defeated South Korea's Gangwon FC 2-0 in Asian Champions League 2 at Taha Ariffin Stadium. Coach Aidil Sharin Sahak then urged his players to concentrate on their FA Cup semi-final meeting with Selangor.

Safawi struck in the 12th and 19th minutes to earn Kuching three points. Speaking after the match, Aidil said the win demonstrated that his squad could put their tactical preparations into practice against strong opposition.

The coach said both sides had played at high intensity, with Kuching applying pressure similar to what they had faced in South Korea. He praised the players for carrying out changes rehearsed in training, including a high press.

Aidil described the display as progress in the club's adaptation to continental competition but warned against prolonged celebrations. With seven players injured, he said recovery was the immediate priority before facing Selangor, who won 2-1 at home in the opening leg.
