Luke Vickery starts as Macarthur win A-League opener
Late goals from Ryan Fraser and Jonathan Aspropotamitis turned the match against Perth Glory in Macarthur's favour after the Indonesia forward was substituted.

Indonesia forward Luke Vickery played 55 minutes as Macarthur FC opened their 2026/2027 A-League campaign with a comeback victory at home against Perth Glory FC on 17 October.
Coach Sasa Ognenovski selected Vickery to start on the right wing before replacing him with Ryan Fraser. Perth took the lead shortly afterwards, with Tom Lawrence scoring in the 59th minute.
Macarthur then made four further substitutions, using their full allocation of changes. Fraser brought the hosts level from the penalty spot in the 86th minute, setting up a late turnaround.
Defender Jonathan Aspropotamitis pushed forward to score in the 89th minute and secure the win. The result put Macarthur second in the early standings, behind Auckland FC by one goal on goal difference. Auckland had beaten Melbourne City FC 3-1.
Vickery and his Macarthur teammates are next scheduled to travel to Newcastle Jets for their match on 24 October.
