Malaysia hockey players and officials awarded RM160,000 after Asiad silver
The national men's squad will next compete in the Asian Champions Trophy in India and the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh.

Incentives totalling RM160,000 have been awarded to 20 Malaysian hockey players and eight team officials following the men's squad's silver-medal finish at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) recognised the squad at an appreciation dinner.
MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal attributed the achievement to contributions from the players, coaching staff and support personnel. He said Malaysia had now taken silver three times in men's hockey across the Asian Games' 75-year history, in 2010, 2018 and 2026.
The Asian Champions Trophy will be Malaysia's next tournament, running from October 27 to November 5 in Punjab, India. Subahan urged the squad and its coaches to overcome hosts India at the competition, which will take place in Jalandhar and Mohali. Malaysia will then contest the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh from November 22-29.
MHC also plans to step up preparations for qualification for the 2028 Olympics, aiming to have the team in peak condition. Malaysia's last Olympic appearance was in Sydney in 2000.
The confederation thanked its main sponsor and strategic partner, Tenaga Nasional, for backing hockey development and the national team's international campaigns.
