Malaysia secured three doubles quarter-final places at the Malaysia Super 100 in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, with home pairs progressing in the men's, women's and mixed events.

In men's doubles, Kang Khai Xing-Lok Hong Quan overcame Japanese opponents Takuto Goto-Tsubasa Yoshida 21-17, 21-19. Their next opponents are Taiwan's Chen Bo Yuan-Lu Ming Che, with a semi-final berth at stake.

Khai Xing-Hong Quan are one of the partnerships being tried by national men's doubles head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi. Khai Xing said communication between the pair had improved and that they played with greater confidence, limiting lifts and keeping their opponents under pressure.

Dania Sofea-Tan Zhing Hui beat India's Priya Konjengbam-Shruti Mishra 21-15, 24-22 in women's doubles. They will meet South Korean pair Lee Seung He-Park Min Ji in the quarter-finals.

Liew Xun-Nicole Tan won their mixed doubles encounter against fellow Malaysians Wee Yee Hern-Vannee Gobi. They next face Indonesia's Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto-Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

Malaysia's men's singles players suffered last-16 defeats. Justin Hoh lost to Indonesia's Richie Duta Richardo, leaving him with quarter-final appearances at only two of 15 events this season. Vietnam Open champion Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin was eliminated by China's Zhu Xuan Chen.

Other Malaysian exits included Faiq Haziq Masawi-Wan Arif Junaidi in men's doubles and Vanessa Ng-Tan Zhing Yi and Cheng Su Hui-Chong Jie Yu in women's doubles.
