Martin withdraws from Malaysian MotoGP as Marquez leads standings
Aprilia announced the withdrawal on 31 October, with Martin 10 points behind Marquez and four rounds remaining in the 2026 season.

Jorge Martin has withdrawn from the 2026 Malaysian MotoGP while carrying an injury, Aprilia announced on 31 October. His withdrawal leaves championship leader Marc Marquez heading into the weekend’s races with 365 points, ahead of Martin on 355.
Martin attempted to compete in Malaysia despite the injury. He took part in the first free practice session on 30 October but did not finish it. The Spanish rider then participated in the second practice session before missing qualifying.
Marquez moved to the top of the standings by winning the Australian MotoGP sprint, during which Martin crashed while competing against him. The crash ruled Martin out of the Australian main race, but that event was subsequently cancelled because of unsuitable weather.
The Malaysian sprint is scheduled for 31 October, followed by the main race on 1 November. Four rounds remain in the 2026 championship, including Malaysia. Marco Bezzecchi is also in contention, sitting 40 points behind Marquez.
