Kuching City FC earned a point against Tampines Rovers FC on 7 October 2026, with Gabriel Peres scoring two late equalisers in a 2-2 Group A draw. The Malaysian club were making their ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup debut at Stadium Negeri in Kuching.

Peres first brought the hosts level in the 86th minute, beating goalkeeper Zharfan Rohaizad with a deflected shot from 25 yards. Kohya Kazama restored the Singaporean visitors’ advantage in the 88th minute after Haziq Nadsli lost possession and Kazama exchanged passes with Hide Higashikawa.

The hosts responded again in the third minute of added time. Peres met a cross delivered by João Pedro from the right, heading the ball in off the inside of Zharfan’s left post. He was named Shopee Star of the Match.

Tampines had taken the lead through Nabel Yoshitaka Furusawa in the 13th minute. After Peres headed Higashikawa’s delivery into the air, Furusawa volleyed the dropping ball home from close range.

Kuching had earlier threatened through Safawi Rasid and Ajdin Mujagić. After the interval, Kazama and Higashikawa missed chances to extend Tampines’ lead, while Zharfan tipped a Peres header over in the 65th minute.
