PSSI warns of renewed away-fan ban after supporter violence
Chairman Erick Thohir gave I.League and clubs one week to reach an agreement on supporter safety.

Indonesia’s football association, PSSI, could prohibit away supporters from attending matches again if clubs and league organisers cannot ensure their safety, chairman Erick Thohir said in Jakarta on 13 October.
Erick gave league operator I.League and clubs one week to assess supporter-related security issues and reach an agreement. He said PSSI would intervene if they failed to agree and could not guarantee supporters’ safety, with a renewed ban among the possible measures.
The warning followed violence by football supporters against a group travelling with the EPA Persib team in Batang regency, Central Java. Persija Jakarta supporters subsequently suffered violence in Cikampek, with tensions rising again between the clubs’ supporters.
Away fans had begun attending some Super League 2026/2027 fixtures again, although permission depended on each match’s risk level. Erick said the reopening was conditional on clubs and the league accepting responsibility for match organisation and supporter safety, including responsibility if incidents occurred.
