Maximo Quiles secured the 2026 Moto3 world championship by winning the Pertamina Moto3 Mandalika race at Indonesia’s Pertamina Mandalika Circuit on 11 October. Almansa finished second, leaving Quiles with an unassailable advantage in the standings.

Quiles earned 25 points for the victory, taking his total to 351. Almansa collected 20 points and now has 219. The gap between them is 132 points, while the five rounds still to be contested offer a maximum of 125 points.

Starting sixth on the grid, Quiles moved through the field early and took the lead. As the riders behind him battled for position, he built a gap of up to 2.6 seconds over Almansa, who recovered to second after dropping back. Quiles remained in control through to the finish.

The title comes in the 18-year-old’s second Moto3 season, following third place in the final standings during his debut campaign. He has won 10 of the 17 races held this season. He missed the British Moto3 race, while his lowest finishing position was 11th in Italy.
