Rifky wins Indonesia’s first gold at Asian Para Games 2026
Indonesia’s medal tally stood at 10 on the first day after the opening ceremony, with one gold, one silver and eight bronzes.

Yavianda Maulana Rifky secured Indonesia’s first gold medal at the Asian Para Games 2026 on 19 October, winning the men’s S12 100-metre freestyle in 55.34 seconds.
The Indonesian swimmer finished ahead of Uzbekistan’s Dmitry Khorlin, who took silver in 55.44 seconds. Japan’s Genki Saito claimed bronze for the host nation with a time of 57.54 seconds.
By 19:44 WIB on the first day after the Games’ opening ceremony, Indonesia had collected 10 medals, CNN Indonesia reported. Alongside Rifky’s swimming gold, the delegation had won one silver in para judo and eight bronze medals.
Those bronzes came from six sports: para cycling, para powerlifting, para table tennis, para athletics, para judo and para swimming. Indonesia’s delegation is targeting seven gold medals, eight silvers and 17 bronzes at the 2026 Games. Rifky’s victory provided the first gold towards that target, while para judo contributed to both the silver and bronze tallies.
