Sabah earned a 2-0 Super League victory over Terengganu at Kota Kinabalu's Likas Stadium, with Romel Morales dismissed after a VAR review shortly before half-time.

Enrique Lopez Fernandez put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute following a Terengganu defensive error. Goalkeeper Suhaimi Husin came off his line but missed a ball sent forward from midfield, allowing it to bounce towards an empty goal. Gonzalo Ignacio Di Renzo added Sabah's second in the 24th minute.

Morales was involved in a confrontation with several Sabah players late in the first half, during which he brought goalkeeper Juan Flere to the ground. Referee Tuan Yaasin Tuan Hanafiah consulted VAR and issued the Malaysian international a straight red card.

Neither side scored after the interval. Sabah created opportunities but could not break through Terengganu's defence again, while the visitors pushed forward more aggressively without finding a goal.

Heavy rain delayed the scheduled 5pm start by about 30 minutes. The result gave Sabah three points, while Terengganu remained without a win.
