San Beda beats Perpetual 71-63 to extend winning streak
Jomel Puno scored 15 points as the Red Lions moved to 5-2 in Group A, while Perpetual suffered a third consecutive defeat.

San Beda University recovered from a 10-point deficit to defeat the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA 71-63 on October 8 at the Filoil Centre in San Juan. The victory was San Beda’s third in succession in NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball.
Perpetual held a 25-15 advantage during the second quarter, but San Beda narrowed the gap to 34-33 at the break. The Red Lions started the third period by scoring 10 unanswered points, before Mark Gojo Cruz ended Perpetual’s scoring drought. The ALTAs managed 16 points in that quarter.
San Beda was ahead 65-55 with 6:13 left in the fourth quarter. Perpetual cut the margin to 65-59 with 1:28 remaining, but a basket from Jomel Puno interrupted the comeback and helped the Red Lions close out the game.
Puno finished with 15 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block. Kyle Jamora contributed 14 points. For Perpetual, JM Tulabut recorded 14 points, six rebounds and two steals, while Aries Borja scored nine points.
The result lifted San Beda’s Group A record to 5-2. Perpetual fell to 2-4 after losing for the third consecutive time.
