Sekulic double gives Persib 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory
The victory at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium gave Igor Tolic's side three wins in the 2026/2027 AFC Champions League 2.
Balsa Sekulic scored twice after half-time as Persib Bandung defeated Melbourne Victory 2-0 at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on 28 October in the 2026/2027 AFC Champions League 2.
The teams reached the interval without scoring. Persib attacked through the wings and created several chances but could not finish them, while Melbourne had few opportunities despite an open first half.
Sekulic broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Receiving a pass from Danijel Loncar between two Melbourne defenders, the Montenegrin forward placed his shot into the right corner.
Melbourne responded with sustained pressure. Clarismario Santos came close to an equaliser in the 55th minute, striking Persib's crossbar with an effort from distance.
Persib then strengthened their midfield play. Thom Haye threatened from a free-kick in the 63rd minute, but Melbourne's goalkeeper pushed his effort away.
Four minutes later, Sekulic added his second from a Berguinho assist in a move similar to the opener. Neither side scored again, leaving Igor Tolic's team with three victories.
