Shayne Pattynama, Fajar Fathurrahman and Eksel Runtukahu could receive more playing time for Persija Jakarta in the 2026/2027 League Cup after Shin Tae Yong indicated he would rotate his squad.

Speaking after Persija’s match against Persik at Jakarta International Stadium on 26 October, Shin said players who had received little time in the Super League would be used in the cup competition. None of the three had played during the opening seven weeks of the 2026/2027 Super League season.

Pattynama, a left wing-back, had yet to be included in a matchday squad this season. He and Fajar face competition for the wing-back positions, with Shin favouring Kerim Memija, Rio Fahmi and Kyohei Yoshino on the right. Up front, new arrivals Alexander Jeremejeff and Ivan Mamut have limited Eksel’s opportunities.

The League Cup is scheduled to run from 3 November to 19 May 2027. Persija have been drawn alongside PSMS Medan and Sumsel United in the West Zone’s Group A.
