Malaysia's S. Sivasangari collected her fourth Gold-level squash title by defeating Egypt's Farida Mohamed at the Silicon Valley Open in Redwood City, California. The world No. 4 won 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 in 31 minutes.

The 27-year-old is now seeking her first Platinum-level tournament victory, with the US Open in Philadelphia from Nov 1-7 providing her next chance. Andrew Cross, coaching director at the Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia, said she was also pursuing a top-three world ranking.

Sivasangari reached the Egyptian Open semi-finals earlier in the month, losing in a deciding fifth game to world No. 2 Hania El Hammamy. She told the PSA Squash Tour that, having achieved her goal of reaching a Platinum semi-final, she wanted to progress to winning a tournament at that level.

Seeded third at Silicon Valley, Sivasangari said the absence of the two highest-ranked players had brought some pressure. She was pleased to have remained composed and finished the final in three games against world No. 20 Farida.

The result gave Sivasangari her third victory over Farida in five encounters and her 18th PSA title across 28 finals. Her earlier Gold-level successes came at the London Classic in 2024, followed by the Australian Open and Grasshopper Cup last season.
